The BFC has five elected committees: Athletics Committee, Faculty Board of Review, Faculty Mediation Committee, Faculty Misconduct Review Committee, and the Student Academic Appointee Board of Review.
Faculty members can volunteer to serve on these committees. The Nomination Committee then selects candidates to run, and the Bloomington Faculty elects the final membership.
Each elected committee has a specific policy to guide its functions.
The Athletics Committee participates in the oversight of intercollegiate athletics programs. The committee recommends policies to faculty governance or administration and monitors compliance and personnel issues, budget, and planning strategies.

The Faculty Misconduct Review Committee was established in 1999 to hear cases where faculty have been identified as having committed professional misconduct not covered by procedures related to research misconduct or set out in the Student Code of Ethics or Affirmative Action office guidelines.
