University-level policies can be found at policies.iu.edu. Many supersede portions of campus and unit policies. Academic policies at this level are developed by UFC committees and task forces and approved by the Policy Executive Council (PEC). Policies with the prefix “BOT” must also be approved by the Board of Trustees.
Campus-level academic policies are currently available on the website of the Vice Provost for Faculty and Academic Affairs and apply only to Bloomington. These are developed and refined by BFC committees, but must be approved by the Campus Policy Committee (BL-CPC).
Both the PEC and BL-CPC are governed by BOT-02.
Unit-level policies (such as promotion and tenure guidelines) are available on the websites of schools and departments. These policies may be developed and refined internally but cannot contradict university- or campus-level policies.
