Educational Policies Committee

In collaboration with the Campus Policy Committee, the Educational Policies Committee (EPC) develops and refines campus policies concerning teaching, curriculum, student information, and related matters. It also monitors and consults with the administration on enrollment. 

2026-2027 Assignments

  1. In collaboration with the Registrar, develop a policy to allow a "high pass" distinction for credits that are taken pass/fail, such as internships and experiential learning courses.
  2. Identify IUB faculty perspectives (concerns, potential opportunities, etc.) regarding dual-credit courses for high school students and collaborate with the AVP for Precollege and College Transition Programs to communicate them to the Indiana Commission for Higher Education.
  3. In collaboration with Technology Policy (TPC), Faculty Affairs (FAC), and Research Affairs (RAC), identify technology-related policies and procedures that seem to be creating barriers for effective teaching.
  4. Solicit diverse faculty perspectives on AI in the classroom, including minimal and heavy use by both students and faculty (i.e. for grading and instruction); report to the BFC by the end of the year.
  5. Communicate regularly with the chair(s) of the UFC Academic Affairs committee.
