The International Affairs Committee participates in the oversight of international affairs. The committee recommends policies to faculty governance or administration and monitors compliance and personnel issues, budget, and planning strategies.
2022-2023 Assignments
- Ascertain what the objectives of IU’s OVPIA office are with this new presidential administration. Are there changes coming to the international connection strategies (gateways, faculty funding, study abroad, etc.) which will affect faculty and students?
- Explore how the committee can better serve or be of use to faculty with international expertise. What do faculty who work internationally or are international experts want in terms of connection to the OVPIA programs?
- Explore ways for the committee to better connect with international students. Is there an international graduate student organization or group that can be the connection to the international students?
- Explore/better understand the concerns of international graduate students in the context of the renewed interest to improve graduate experience at IU.
