The Research Affairs Committee was initiated in AY 2002-03 to develop campus policies pertaining to research and to work with the Office of Research to address issues affecting campus support for research activities.
2025-2026 Assignments
- Address issues related to data storage shortfalls and its relationship to federal requirements around data archiving and its usage.
- Maintain lines of communication/collaboration with IUI and UFC RACs.
- Develop and propose a policy on research transparency. Initial work was done a few years ago and is available as a starting point.
- Engage in conversations around the Nelson Memorandum that describes new federal requirements for preservation and access to data produced through federally funded research.
- Collaborate with FAC to investigate postdoctoral packages at IUB, with an effort to identify strategies to improve recruiting.
- Others presented by the committee for review and approval.
