The Faculty’s Long-Range Plan for Indiana University Bloomington

The Faculty’s Long-Range Plan for Indiana University Bloomington is a working document developed during the 2017 - 2018 academic year by the BFC Long-range Planning Committee (LRPC). It is not yet a formal proposal.  Rather, it represents the first step in a process that the LRPC imagines as ongoing, iterative, and fundamentally dialogic in nature.

Ultimately, the LRPC hopes to develop a formal proposal, or set of proposals, that derive from and reflect the wisdom, commitment, and imagination of the faculty.  Unlike administratively-driven strategic planning, which tends as matter of necessity to focus on the short and medium terms, the LRPC is attempting to draft a document that it hopes will help guide institutional decision making over the course of next two or three decades.  This version of the working document is therefore articulated in terms of collective principles and aspirations.  The LRPC welcomes comment regarding these or any other aspects of the working document.
