Diversity Equity and Inclusion Committee

The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee develops policies related to campus diversity; responds to campus issues on affirmative action that may arise; monitors the performance of the campus in meeting affirmative action goals; confers with the campus affirmative action officer and the office of academic support and diversity on policy and performance issues; prepares an annual report to the BFC.

2025-26 Assignments

1. Identify how to reorganize and rename the committee given the elimination of the Office of the Vice President for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion.
2. Gain a full understanding of Federal and State executive orders/policy/law now in place around matters related to DEI. Strategize how to navigate and adapt the role of DEI committees within faculty governance.
3. Perform an environmental scan of peer institutions in the Big10 and AAU to examine how faculty governance structures are providing support and fostering dialogue and focusing on related areas that are not impacted by federal and state executive orders/policy/law.
4. Others presented by the committee for review and approval.
